Yesterday, Google announced mobile banner advertisements for their AdSense program. Surprisingly, it didn’t generate that much press considering there’s turmoil within the Twitter-sphere. To this, I ask: “Aren’t you excited?”
Maybe you are, maybe you aren’t or maybe you’re one of those people that think mobile ads and WAP sites don’t affect you because you own that pretentious iPhone (I kid!). Although mobile doesn’t necessarily have a (current) persistent presence as it does in Europe and Asia, the medium is beginning to make larger strides here in the United States. The endless amounts of data speak for itself.
In a way, Google’s foray into mobile image ads, in addition to mobile text ads, levels the market across competing mobile ad networks as well as simplifies integration within an agency’s AdSense account.
