#13, yo!

Happy new year all! After our first year of organizing Hackers & Founders in New York City, both Justin and I are extremely excited to start the new year off right with our eighth meetup on Thursday, January 14 from 6-8PM (RSVP) and first of its kind (details below).
Started as NYC’s Hacker News meetup, Hackers & Founders has evolved into something more of a meeting. In many ways, I’ve met many of my good friends in the NY technology and startup community through monthly get-togethers over beer and burgers. In the first eight months of organizing H&F, we’ve seen attendance at each event grow by leaps - the first meetup, if I remember correctly, was a few of us at Shake Shack talking about the top news stories on HN and discussing the ins/outs of entrepreneurship. Since that time, gatherings typically average 70-90 attendees with this month’s anticipating the 100+ mark.
Over the last two months, we’ve been toying with the idea of showcasing our code, project and companies before the H&F community. For January, we’re excited to announce a Demo night in order to do just that. In addition to our “beer and burgers” meetup, we’ll run through a new format before the community. However, in order to do so, we’ll need inaugural demo participants. Are you interested?
If so, here’s how it’s going to work (and subject to change after we learn more about the result following H&F #8):
So, if you’re interested in presenting, please fill out this quick application and we’ll do our best to get you in the queue for demos on January 14.
See you then!
About
Hackers & Founders is a monthly gathering of New York’s startup and programmer community. Meeting the last Thursday from 6-8PM, H&F connects fellow entrepreneurs with new ideas, support and feedback from over 250 members involved in technology industry (usually over beer and burgers). Starting in January 2010, H&F will host “lightning demos” from participating startups and programmers - showing off their latest code and product before a crowd willing to lend feedback and ideas on how to improve.
